About Amy

I am a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and have been providing psychotherapy to English and Spanish-speaking clients throughout the Triangle for over 20 years.

My clinical psychotherapy practice has community-based roots as I spent my foundational years working at an adult public mental health center, at a local domestic & sexual violence response center, and later at a non-profit counseling agency.

From 2007 to 2017, I worked as a psychotherapist in private practice in Durham, North Carolina, where I could better tailor my trauma-focused and integrative psychotherapy practice to meet the community's needs.

In January 2017, my family and I moved to Wake County and I relocated my private psychotherapy practice to Cary, NC. I've enjoyed the process of getting to know the community's rich history, diverse cultures, local organizations & resources while also serving a growing number of clients. Come fall 2019, I'll be formally launching my private practice!

Therapy Approach

My therapy approach is relational. I focus on creating a warm, nonjudgmental and responsive therapy relationship as a vehicle for healing past relational hurts and for enhancing current relationships, for developing a stronger & more compassionate sense of self, and for promoting emotional stability. According to the needs of my clients, I may also utilize DBT, EMDR and DNMS in addition to relational psychotherapy (See Therapy Services for more information).
